Thriving in a male-dominated field.
Lisa was born in Grand Bassa, Liberia, just south of the capital city. She has been participating in vocational electricity training at the Self Help Initiative for Sustainable Development (SHIFSD).
This has not only fuelled her passion for the world of electricity, but it has enabled her to build the necessary skills for her future dream career as an electrical engineer.
Upon completing the course, Lisa is particularly interested in pursuing household electronics. In a more connected world, it is easier to be inspired by role models and to seek out new opportunities for personal development. She believes that access to electricity can thus improve prospects for young people, especially young women, to go beyond their perceived capabilities and thrive.
